Products description

The clocks supervised by the city of Vienna and above all the Viennese dice clocks are standard clocks and part of the Stadtmobiliars.

The shape of the Wiener Würfeluhr has existed since about 1900. It is based on a hexahedron stump, a polyhedron of 6 equilateral eight corners and 8 such triangles. This corresponds to a cube whose corners have been cut. To ensure good visibility even in the dark, the four circular dials are backlit.

The year 2000 was taken as an opportunity to redesign the Wiener Würfeluhr. The old-fashioned analogue dice clock was surrounded by a glass cube on which time is displayed in digital form. The first such copy was placed in the 11th district of Vienna Simmering in Senngasse 2, the seat of the Municipal Department 33, but seems to have been dismantled in the meantime.
