Zimo MX9V, track section module with full functionality

16 single-sided isolated track sections (each 2 form a "main section") are connected to an MX9; the track section modules are responsible for technical train protection measures, i.e. in addition to occupancy detection, above all for the ZIMO performance features "signal-dependent train influence", "location-dependent function influence" and "position coding" as well as for train number recognition.

Occupancy detection and notification for the 16 connected track sections:

Vehicles with power consumption on the track section are detected,

The quiescent current of a decoder and carriage with resistance axles is sufficient,

Local display of occupancy status by 16 LEDs on the module itself,

External display on connectable lamps (LEDs) or on the computer.

MX9V - "Signal dependent train control", independent for each of the 8 main sections (a main section consists of 2 track sections each):

Train stops before the red signal (in "stopping sections") without affecting lighting and functions, under the control of a higher-level unit (basic device in the case of system-autonomous processes, or computer with appropriate software, e.g. STP),< /p>

Signal-dependent speed limit in 5 stages for pre-braking or for slow-moving sections, under control

Full controllability of all functions even when stationary or on slow-moving routes,

Vehicle-specific cancellation of train control using the MAN button.

MX9V - "Location based feature manipulation":

The connected track sections can be supplied with information for switching on functions in the vehicles (defined by CV's in the MX9) using the technical means of "signal-dependent train control",

The selected outputs of ZIMO decoders switch themselves automatically on the relevant track sections; currently only available in the ZIMO function decoders, later (2007) also planned for other decoders (locomotive decoders).

Demonstration project for MX9V in 2005 - "position coding" for ARA's:

The connected track sections are each assigned a "position code" which is intended to communicate the current location to the vehicles located on the track section (1 to 254, defined by CV's in the MX9); with the technical means of ZIMO "signal-dependent train control",

A decoder can use the knowledge it receives about its own location (the position code) for internal functions (if appropriate decoder software is available) or together with its own "routing code" (representing its own train class) by "bi-directional communication" to the detector in the base unit.

In the basic device, the information that a specific class of train has arrived at a specific location can be used to automatically steer the train - activation of an "automatic routing process" ARA (Project 2005).

MX9V - Train Number Recognition:

Evaluation of the train numbers (= acknowledgment) impulses from ZIMO decoders, from which determination of the vehicles currently on the track section.

Display of the train numbers on connected display modules MX9ZIA or on the computer("STP" software).
